Teapigs

I’m not a fan of fruit teas – they smell better than they taste – but I do like decent peppermint or camomile. (Technically, they aren’t tea as they don’t contain leaves from the tea plant. They also don’t contain any caffeine, which can be a good or a bad thing depending on the time of day!)

I recently discovered a brand called Teapigs. They make a range of herbal teas (aka tisanes) and ‘real’ teas, mostly in teabags. Unlike a lot of teabags that contain the fannings and dust (little broken bits) that aren’t used in loose tea, these teabags use whole leaves and whole flowers. The bags are sturdy little pyramids that allow the flavour to develop properly. You can really taste the difference and the camomile ones are also rather pretty. I’m looking forward to trying their breakfast blend next…
